You will provide structured curriculum instruction, examination preparation and personalised academic support based on each student’s examination board, current ability and learning goals.This freelance opportunity is ideal for an accomplished Mathematics educator with excellent subject knowledge, a strong understanding of UK assessment requirements and the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly and confidently.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging, interactive and well-structured online Mathematics lessons for GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A-Level students.Teach GCSE Foundation and Higher-tier Mathematics according to students’ individual requirements.Teach A-Level topics across Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Mechanics.Plan lessons in alignment with relevant UK examination-board specifications, including AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge International.Explain mathematical concepts, methods and problem-solving strategies clearly and logically.Strengthen students’ knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, probability, statistics, calculus and other curriculum areas.Develop students’ mathematical reasoning, accuracy and ability to solve unfamiliar problems.Help students select and apply appropriate formulas, methods and techniques.Identify misconceptions and learning gaps and provide targeted support.Prepare students for coursework, school assessments, mock examinations and final examinations.Teach examination techniques, time management and effective use of calculators.Work through past papers and examination-style questions aligned with the relevant specification.Review students’ assignments and practice papers and provide detailed,



constructive feedback.Assign appropriate homework and monitor its completion and quality.Track student progress and adjust lesson plans according to performance.Maintain accurate lesson notes, attendance records and progress updates.Communicate professionally with students, parents and the Smavy Academy team.Participate in teacher training, academic reviews and periodic parent–teacher meetings when required.Maintain a safe, respectful and encouraging online learning environment.Essential RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Education or a closely related discipline.Strong knowledge of the UK GCSE and/or A-Level Mathematics curriculum and assessment objectives.Demonstrated experience teaching GCSE, IGCSE, AS or A-Level Mathematics.Strong subject knowledge across algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics and probability.For A-Level teaching, strong knowledge of Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Mechanics.Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.Ability to break down complex mathematical concepts into clear, manageable steps.Ability to assess student work accurately and provide specific, actionable feedback.Ability to adapt teaching methods to different abilities, learning styles and confidence levels.Confidence using online teaching platforms, digital whiteboards and mathematical notation tools.Reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, clear audio and a suitable teaching workplace.Availability during UK-compatible teaching hours, including evenings and/or weekends.Commitment to punctuality, professionalism and consistent student support.Willingness to complete identity, qualification and background-verification checks. Desirable Qualifications and ExperienceFormal teaching qualification such as B.Ed., M.Ed., PGCE, QTS or an equivalent credential.Experience teaching specifications from AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR or Cambridge International.Experience teaching both GCSE Higher-tier and A-Level Mathematics.Experience teaching Further Mathematics would be an advantage.Experience as an examiner, moderator,
