Route One Advisory Services is growing its accounting and advisory practice and is seeking an

experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.

n

This role is an opportunity to work with a professional-services firm supporting a diverse

n

portfolio of businesses with accounting, financial reporting, controller-level support, and

n

fractional CFO services.

n

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and reviewing accounting activities for

n

multiple clients, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reporting, and

n

supporting the Route One team in delivering high-quality work to our clients.

n

What You'll Do

n

n
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for multiple client engagements
n
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
n
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures
n
- Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations
n
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure financial data is accurate and complete
n
- Reconcile bank, credit card, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance
n

n

sheet accounts

- Analyze financial statements and investigate unusual or unexpected variances
n
- Prepare management reports and supporting schedules
n
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow reporting
n
- Support client accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
n
- Identify accounting issues, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement
n
- Assist with accounting cleanup and remediation projects
n
- Work with client management and Route One's senior team to resolve accounting and
n

n

reporting issues

n

n
- Support Controller and Fractional CFO engagements as needed
n
- Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and other client advisory work
n

n





Client-Facing Responsibility

n

This is more than a transactional accounting role. Senior Accountants at Route One are expected

n

to develop an understanding of the businesses behind the numbers.

n

You'll work with client teams to understand their accounting processes, identify issues, explain

n

financial information, and help ensure clients have reliable information to make better business

n

decisions. Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with business owners,

n

executives, and finance teams are therefore significant.

n

What We're Looking For

n

n
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
n
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
n
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
n
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
n
- Strong general ledger and account reconciliation experience
n
- Ability to analyze financial statements and identify discrepancies
n
- Experience working with multiple entities, clients, or accounting environments is a plus
n
- Strong Excel skills
n
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar
n
