Ambulance Driver Roles and Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently drive an ambulance to transport patients to and from healthcare facilities, emergency scenes, and other destinations as required.
Maintain a clean and well-organized ambulance, ensuring that all medical equipment and supplies are properly secured and readily accessible.
Follow established protocols and respond promptly to emergency calls, ensuring the safe and timely arrival at the scene or destination.
Provide basic first aid and life support assistance to patients during transportation, as required and within the scope of training.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics, to ensure effective communication and coordination during patient transportation.
Adhere to traffic laws, regulations,
and protected driving practices while operating the ambulance, including defensive driving techniques in emergency situations.
Maintain accurate records of patient transport activities, including pick-up and drop-off times, destination, and any relevant patient information.
Perform routine checks on the ambulance, including monitoring fuel and fluid levels, inspecting tires, and ensuring that all emergency equipment is in working order.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing reassurance and support during transportation.
Attend regular training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as defensive driving, first aid, and emergency response techniques
