Head – Finance, Manufacturing Operations

We are looking for an experienced Head – Finance, Manufacturing Operations to lead finance, accounting, costing and financial controls across all our manufacturing units.

n

Role Summary

n

The role will work closely with the Group Finance Head, Plant Heads and operational teams to improve cost visibility, financial discipline, working capital, controls and plant-level decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead finance and accounting across all manufacturing units.
n
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual closing.
n
- Drive plant budgeting, forecasting, MIS and performance reviews.
n
- Strengthen product costing, standard costing and cost-centre accounting.
n
- Analyse variances in raw materials, power, fuel, yield, scrap, consumables, manpower, maintenance and overheads.
n
- Partner with Plant Heads to identify cost savings and profitability improvements.
n
- Strengthen controls over inventory, stores, spares, scrap, fixed assets and working capital.
n
- Monitor plant CAPEX, project costs, commitments, capitalization and returns.
n
- Ensure plant-level statutory compliance and coordinate internal, statutory and cost audits.
n




- Standardize financial processes, controls and reporting across units.
n
- Drive effective use of SAP/ERP, digital dashboards and finance automation.
n
- Build and lead plant finance and accounts teams across locations.
n

Ideal Candidate Profile

n

n
- Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant with 15–20 years of experience in manufacturing finance, plant finance, accounting, costing or controlling.
n
- At least five years in a leadership role covering a large plant or multiple manufacturing units.
n
- Strong experience in product costing, variance analysis, budgeting, MIS, inventory control, CAPEX and working capital.
n
- Sound knowledge of accounting, audits, GST and plant-level financial compliance.
n
- Strong business-partnering experience with plant, production, maintenance, procurement and commercial teams.
n
- Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP and manufacturing-finance systems.
n
- Ability to identify financial leakages, challenge assumptions and drive corrective action.
n
- Robust analytical, leadership and execution capabilities.
n
- Candidates from steel, metals, cement, heavy engineering or other process industries will be preferred.
n
- Experience in steel melting shops, billets, rolling mills or TMT/rebar operations will be an advantage.
n
- Willingness to be based in Durgapur and travel to other manufacturing units when required.
n
