Role Overview
NMG Technologies is looking for a Manual QA Tester with strong hands-on experience in testing web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and databases.
The ideal candidate should be primarily strong in manual testing, with practical exposure to automation testing. We are not looking for a dedicated automation engineer; however, the candidate should have worked hands-on with automation tools/frameworks and should be comfortable taking up basic automation testing requirements whenever needed.
You will work closely with developers, product managers, designers, and international clients to ensure that our applications are stable, reliable, and meet expected quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and wireframes to understand testing requirements.
- Design and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, checklists, and test plans.
- Perform hands-on manual testing of web applications, including functional, UI, usability, responsive, cross-browser, regression, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Perform mobile application testing on Android and iOS, including functional, UI/UX, device compatibility, screen-size, orientation, and platform-specific scenarios.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or Swagger and validate request/response data, status codes, authentication, and error handling.
- Perform basic database testing and data validation using SQL queries.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, ClickUp, Bugzilla, or similar tools.
- Perform defect retesting and regression testing and ensure issues are properly closed before releases.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce issues, identify possible root causes, and ensure timely resolution.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog discussions, and retrospectives.
- Coordinate with product owners, project managers, designers, developers, and international clients to clarify requirements and testing scenarios.
- Prepare and maintain test documentation, test reports, defect reports, and release-quality reports.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, testing standards, and overall product quality.
Automation Testing – Practical Exposure Required The candidate will primarily work on manual testing, but should also have practical hands-on exposure to automation testing.
- Exposure to automation testing using tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar.
- Candidate should have actually worked on automation scripts/frameworks rather than only having theoretical knowledge.
- Ability to understand existing automation scripts and execute automated test suites.
- Should be able to make basic modifications or additions to automation scripts when required.
- Should be comfortable troubleshooting basic automation failures and reporting automation-related issues.
