About the Role

We are looking for a Linux Administrator to join our IT team and support the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and troubleshooting of Linux-based servers and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Linux server administration, server hardening, user and access management, storage, networking, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The candidate should also be comfortable with automation and scripting and have a strong problem-solving approach.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers, including RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
- Perform OS patching, updates, upgrades, and server lifecycle management.
- Manage Linux users, groups, permissions, sudo access, SSH, PAM, and SELinux.
- Configure and manage file systems and storage technologies including LVM, RAID, NFS, and iSCSI.
- Configure and maintain Apache, Nginx, application servers, and related services.
- Perform Linux server hardening and implement security best practices.
- Install, configure, and maintain rack-mounted physical servers and server hardware.
- Configure and manage SFTP/FTP servers, including user creation, permissions, and access rights.
- Troubleshoot server performance, boot issues, kernel problems, hardware issues, and service failures.




- Manage system logs using syslog/journald and perform log analysis for troubleshooting and security purposes.
- Configure and manage Linux networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and VPN-related configurations.
- Work with firewall technologies such as iptables/firewalld.
- Manage scheduled tasks and automation using cron.
- Automate repetitive administrative tasks using Shell/Bash scripting, Python, and Ansible.
- Support virtualization environments such as KVM and VMware.
- Monitor server health, availability, performance, and capacity using tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Assist with server and switch installation and basic network configuration.
- Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of infrastructure issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, server inventories, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for infrastructure-related issues whenever required.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of Linux system administration.
- Hands-on experience with RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu.
- Good understanding of Linux user and permission management.
- Knowledge of SSH, SFTP, FTP, SELinux, PAM, sudo, cron, and systemd.




- Working knowledge of LVM, RAID, NFS, iSCSI, and file systems.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and basic networking.
- Knowledge of Apache/Nginx administration.
- Basic-to-intermediate scripting knowledge in Bash/Shell and Python.
- Knowledge of Ansible for automation/configuration management.
- Basic knowledge of VMware/KVM virtualization.
- Exposure to server monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Knowledge of Linux server security and hardening practices.
- Basic understanding of physical/rack server installation and troubleshooting.

Educational Qualification

- B.Tech / B.E. / BCA / MCA or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Experience

1–3 years of relevant experience in Linux System Administration / Server Administration / Infrastructure Support.

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
