NIPS Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata is looking for a seasoned English Communication & Soft Skills Faculty who can help students become confident, articulate and professionally prepared communicators.
We are not looking for a conventional English literature or grammar teacher. We need an experienced trainer who understands how to teach English as a practical communication skill and can work with students of different proficiency levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct practical classes in Spoken English and English Communication.
- Improve students' fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation and sentence formation.
- Help students overcome hesitation and develop confidence in speaking English.
- Train students in professional communication and workplace English.
- Conduct sessions in public speaking, presentations, group discussions and extempore speaking.
- Train students in interview skills,
self-introduction and professional conversation.
- Conduct mock interviews and prepare students for internships, placements and management trainee selections.
- Teach professional email writing and basic business communication.
- Develop students' grooming, body language, etiquette, personality and professional presence.
- Conduct hospitality-related role plays and guest-interaction exercises.
- Identify weaker students and provide structured improvement and individual feedback.
- Regularly assess progress in communication, confidence and presentation skills.
- Coordinate with faculty and placement teams to improve overall industry readiness.
Candidate Profile
- Master's Degree in English, Communication, Linguistics, ELT, Education or a relevant discipline.
- Preferably 5+ years of experience in English communication training, soft-skills training, personality development or professional education.
