JOB TITLE: Trainee - Medical Coding

Job Summary

Medical Coding Trainees are primarily assigned with fairly incomplex medical charts or Mock charts, as per organizational standards. The role expects understanding of medical documentation and codes as per the guidelines.

Job Requisites
Under Graduation Degree in any Para Life Science, Preferably in Nursing/ B. Pharm
Excellent knowledge in Human Anatomy and Physiology
Positive analytical Skills and eye for detail

Roles And Responsibilities
Understanding and follow the process and instruction
Assigning CPT (Current Procedural Terminology)
MIPS (Merit-Based Incentive Payment System)
HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System)
ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases Tenth revision Clinical Modification)




Account for coding and abstracting of patient encounters.
Research and analyse data need for reimbursement.
Make sure that codes are sequenced according to government and insurance regulations.
Ensure all medical records are coded and processed accurately.
Analyse medical records and identify documentation deficiencies.
Review and verify documentation for diagnoses, procedures, and treatment results.
Identify diagnostic and procedural information.
Interpreting medical charts and identifying the medical necessity and the procedure rendered.
