Role & Responsibilities

- Perform a full scope of general surgical procedures—including abdominal, hernia, thyroid, breast, and trauma surgeries—with precision and efficiency.
- Lead pre-op evaluations, post-op recovery planning, and critical care coordination for Surgical ICU patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (anesthesia, nursing, radiology) to ensure seamless perioperative care and surgical safety.
- Adhere to and enforce sterile technique, documentation protocols, and infection control standards across the OR and ward.
- Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents, and interns on surgical techniques, clinical decision-making, and ethical practice.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives, morbidity & mortality reviews,



and surgical outcome audits.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

- MBBS DNB/MS in General Surgery
- Valid NMC registration with active license to practice in India
- Proven experience in open and laparoscopic general surgery
- Proficient in managing acute surgical emergencies (trauma, bowel obstruction, perforation, appendicitis)
- Strong clinical decision-making under pressure and effective communication in surgical teams
- Experience in performing common general surgical procedures independently

Preferred

- Experience in rural or semi-urban hospital settings
- Additional training or fellowship in surgical oncology or trauma surgery
- Knowledge of hospital accreditation standards (NABH, JCI)
