JOB PROFILE

Multi-Effect Evaporator (MEE) Plant Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining a multi-effect evaporation system used to concentrate liquids and recover solvents (commonly water) in industries like chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food processing, sugar, pulp & paper, and wastewater/ZLD plants.

Key Responsibilities
Operate the MEE system:
Start-up, steady operation, and shutdown of evaporators
Control steam pressure, temperature, vacuum, and feed flow
Process monitoring:
Monitor parameters such as concentration TDS, temperature, pressure, and vacuum
Ensure effective heat transfer across multiple effects
Energy efficiency:
Optimize steam consumption and condensate recovery
Identify fouling, scaling, or performance drops
Maintenance support:
Routine checks of pumps, heat exchangers, condensers, valves, and instruments
Assist in cleaning (CIP), descaling, and minor troubleshooting
Safety & compliance:




Follow SOPs, safety rules, and environmental norms
Handle steam, vacuum systems, and chemicals safely
Documentation:
Maintain logbooks, shift reports, and operating records

Required Skills & Knowledge
Understanding of evaporation, heat transfer, and thermodynamics:
Knowledge of steam systems, vacuum systems, and condensers:
Ability to read P&IDs; and operating manuals:
Basic mechanical and instrumentation knowledge:
Awareness of ZLD / effluent treatment concepts (if applicable)

Pay: ₹18500.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
