Landscape Architect Job Profile

Job Summary:
A Landscape Architect is responsible for planning, designing, and managing outdoor spaces to enhance aesthetics, functionality, sustainability, and harmony with the workplace. This includes creating layouts for gardens, parks, campuses, urban spaces, and large-scale developments, while integrating environmental conservation and user needs.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Planning
Develop creative and functional landscape designs for residential, commercial, institutional, and public projects.
Prepare master plans, planting plans, irrigation layouts, and 3D visualizations.
Integrate sustainable and climate-responsive design principles.
Project Coordination
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, urban planners, and environmental consultants.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and horticulturists to ensure project quality.
Review and approve material samples and plant selections.
Documentation & Technical Drawings
Create detailed drawings using CAD, BIM, and GIS software.




Prepare BOQs (Bills of Quantities), cost estimates, and technical specifications.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, zoning laws, and environmental standards.
Site Management
Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and quality.
Oversee planting and installation to ensure adherence to design intent.
Address in office challenges and provide design revisions when necessary.
Environmental & Sustainability Focus
Promote biodiversity through native planting.
Incorporate stormwater management, soil conservation, and energy-productive lighting.
Reduce carbon footprint through eco-friendly materials and techniques.

Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of horticulture, plants & species, soil science, and irrigation systems.
Good design sense with creativity and attention to detail.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS tools.
