BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION:
Finance Technology provides technology solutions and support to CIBCs Finance business, enabling effective governance, decision support, and operational excellence. The team delivers and maintains robust, scalable, and creative applications that support financial, regulatory, and management reporting, as well as other critical finance functions across the organization.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Application Consultant is responsible for leading the planning, technical design, development, and integration of complex, enterprise-scale applications within the Finance Technology team. This role assembles, implements, and maintains flexible and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience, while ensuring alignment with CIBCs digital transformation strategy and business objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Design and Development:
- Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- Design technical infrastructure using appropriate databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing methodologies.




- Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative applications that meet business needs.

Strategic Planning:
- Develop multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with the banks vision, strategy, and business goals.
- Lead multiple complex projects involving backend systems, new technology adoption, and enhancement of existing applications.

Leadership:
- Act as the development team lead, running code-review sessions to ensure project milestones and goals are met.
- Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating, and facilitating problem-solving.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Collaborates with business stakeholders, project managers, and other technology teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
