Job Description:
Jewelry, watches, high-value electronics, or another high-value-low-bulk retail category strongly preferred -
general apparel/grocery LP experience does not transfer cleanly to per-gram gold reconciliation or diamond
certification fraud, which are jewelry-specific loss vectors.
Background in investigations - ex-law enforcement, ex-defence, or corporate investigations experience is
common in Indian jewelry retail LP hiring and helps with the FIR/law-enforcement liaison part of the role.
Working knowledge of CCTV/VMS systems, EAS/RFID tagging, vault and secure protocols, and POS exception
reporting.
Familiarity with the regulatory patchwork that actually applies (see Section 7) - there is no single "Loss
Prevention Act" in India; SOPs must instead be built against the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act 2005,
applicable state Shops & Establishments Act, BIS hallmarking compliance, IT Act provisions on CCTV/data
retention, and standard labour law on employee investigations and termination.




Certification such as LPC (Loss Prevention Certified, US-based) or a local equivalent is a plus, not a prerequisite
- don't screen out solid regional candidates for lacking a Western certification.
3.2 Core responsibilities
Policy & SOP ownership
Author and maintain the Loss Prevention SOP manual: opening/closing procedures, vault access, key control,
CCTV coverage standards, EAS tagging, cash handling, high-value item movement between stores, and customer
bag/parcel checks.
Define minimum security standards for FOFO stores and the audit checklist used to certify compliance; own the
escalation path to franchise owners for non-compliance.
Investigations
Sole central point of contact for every loss-prevention incident across COCO and FOFO stores - shrinkage
variance, till mismatches, suspected internal theft, external theft, robbery/burglary, and vendor fraud.
