JOB DESCRIPTION – CIVIL ENGINEER

Job Purpose

To supervise, plan and execute civil construction, maintenance and infrastructure activities within the plant, ensuring quality, safety, timely completion and cost control.

Key Responsibilities
Civil Maintenance
Inspect and maintain plant buildings, roads, drains, foundations and structures.
Identify civil defects and arrange timely repairs.
Maintain factory, office, colony and other civil infrastructure.
Construction & Projects
Supervise civil construction and renovation projects.
Handle RCC, foundations, flooring, brickwork, plastering, roofing and structural-related civil works.
Prepare work schedules and monitor project progress.
Plant Infrastructure
Maintain internal roads, drainage systems, platforms and plant areas.
Coordinate civil works related to machinery foundations and plant expansion.
Ensure proper housekeeping of construction areas.
Contractor Management
Coordinate with civil contractors and labour teams.
Check manpower, work progress and quality of work.
Verify measurements and contractor bills before submission for approval.
Quality & Safety




Ensure construction work is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications.
Monitor quality of construction materials and workmanship.
Follow all plant safety procedures during civil activities.
Material Management
Prepare material requirements for civil works.
Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely availability of cement, steel, sand, aggregates and other materials.
Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
Documentation
Maintain drawings, measurements, BOQs, work orders and project records.
Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
Maintain records required for internal and ISO audits.

Estimation and quantity calculation

Knowledge of RCC and industrial civil construction

MS Excel and documentation
Robust site supervision and coordination skills

Qualification

B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering preferred. Diploma in Civil Engineering may be considered based on experience.

Experience

3–7 years, preferably in a steel plant, rolling mill, manufacturing plant or industrial construction workplace.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
