Job Description

Sustainability Expert responsible for delivering GHG accounting and verification, CBAM emissions verification, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), EPD assessments, and other sustainability assurance and advisory services across the Middle East. The role will have a strong focus on GHG and CBAM verification activities, including review of emissions calculations, source data, emission factors, monitoring methodologies and supporting evidence.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong Environmental Engineer with consulting experience, a positive and proactive mindset, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

- Conduct Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions calculations in accordance with IPCC Guidelines, ISO 14064-1, GHG Protocol, CBAM requirements.
- Perform GHG verification and validation activities in line with: ISO 14064-3, CBAM, International verification standards
- Develop decarbonization strategies and carbon reduction roadmaps for industrial facilities aligned with: SBTi requirements, Net-zero and corporate climate commitments
- Conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and prepare Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
- Perform climate risk assessments aligned with: IFRS S2, TCFD framework
- Conduct environmental and ESG audits against:



local environmental legislation & International environmental standards
- Provide advisory support for ESG ratings and disclosures, including: CDP, Eco Vadis, Other ESG benchmarking platforms
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, client presentations, and audit documentation.

Qualifications

- Education - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant qualified experience in GHG accounting, verification, carbon management and environmental auditing

Experience:

- Hands-on experience in GHG calculations and verification in accordance with ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-3 and GHG Protocol
- Practical experience with CBAM embedded emissions calculations; CBAM verification experience is a strong advantage
- Practical experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and carbon footprint calculations
- Experience with EPD development is an advantage
- Strong Excel and quantitative data analysis skills
- Environmental audits against local ME legislation and international standards
- IFRS S2 / TCFD risk assessments
- SBTi decarbonisation strategy
- Climate projects calculation / validation / verification (VSC etc.)
- ESG rankings consultancy - Ecovadis / CDP etc.
