Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Dev Ops / Platform Engineer job in Hyderabad, India. This CONTRACT hire job is available with one of our key customers in the elevators, escalators, and moving walkway industry. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating an enterprise-grade immutable appliance platform for an Elevator Management System (EMS) deployed on Ubuntu and MicroK8s environments. To be successful in this position, you must have a robust background in Dev Ops, Linux platform engineering, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, and building reliable, serviceable systems for field deployment environments. Preference will be given to someone with experience in immutable infrastructure, virtual appliances, and on-premise platform solutions.

Dev Ops / Platform Engineer Job Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain an immutable appliance platform based on Ubuntu and MicroK8s for EMS deployments.

• Develop and support physical and virtual appliance environments, including image-based system builds and repeatable deployment processes.

• Own the full platform lifecycle including OS builds, Kubernetes deployment, application delivery, patching, upgrades, and rollback strategies.

• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for container images, Kubernetes manifests, and Helm charts.

• Automate provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and recovery processes using scripting and configuration management tools.

• Deploy, operate, and upgrade MicroK8s clusters across physical PCs, virtual machines, and small server environments.

• Support field-deployed, on-premise, and low-connectivity systems with a focus on reliability, recovery, and long-term serviceability.

• Monitor system and application health while continuously improving platform performance, security, and reliability.

• Collaborate with development, QA, product, and operations teams to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.

Qualifications:

• Five years of experience in Dev Ops,



Platform Engineering, or related infrastructure engineering roles, with strong experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise-grade platforms.

• Hands-on experience with Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, MicroK8s, Helm, Docker, container technologies, and self-managed Kubernetes environments, with a strong understanding of cloud-native practices.

• Experience building immutable or image-based systems using tools such as Packer, custom ISO builds, virtual appliance images, or disk image pipelines, along with knowledge of OS lifecycle management, hardening, patching, upgrades, and rollback strategies.

• Experience supporting field-deployed, on-premise, offline, or virtualized environments using platforms such as KVM, VMware, or Hyper-V, with a focus on reliability, recovery, and long-term serviceability.

• Strong Dev Ops automation skills including CI/CD pipelines, Python/Bash scripting, observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure preferred.
