Experience Required:

- Coal fired power project 5-10 years in EPC/Power Projects; thermal power plant exposure preferred.

Job Role:

Torrent power a thriving utility with presence in all sectors of power i.e. Generation, transmission and distribution, is expanding its portfolio rapidly in Generation and Transmission. In addition to its ambitious plans in renewable energy and new technology domains, Torrent Power intents to expand its operation in coal based thermal power plant in line with Government Indias target of 500 GW of overall capacity and immediate addition of 80(95) GW of thermal capacity.

Torrent Power is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Project Coordinator for its forthcoming 2x800 MW coal-based thermal power plant. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience overseeing large-scale coal-fired power projects, ensuring productive delivery within safety and environmental guidelines. Responsible for managing all project phases for the 2 800 MW thermal power plant, the Project Coordinator handles scheduling, costs, risks, quality, compliance, and stakeholder communication. This role ensures seamless daily execution by coordinating across vendors, PMC, Owners Engineer, and Torrent teams, facilitating timely approvals, document flow, action closure, and providing essential inputs for planning, safety, quality, and reporting.





Key Responsibilities:

Interface & Communication

- Primary liaison between Contractors, Owner and other external stakeholders
- Participate in coordination meetings, track of action taken and escalate action items as needed.
- Provide management updates.
- Resolve inter-departmental issues and escalate if required

Engineering

- Oversee the progress and coordinate for hold points among EPC, consultants, and teams.
- Track MDL progress, hold points, and inter-discipline dependencies.
- Escalation management for hold points, management interventions

Procurement

- Coordinate inspections and acceptance tests.
- Ensure vendor documentation compliance (MDCC, ITP), monitor delivery timelines, and expedite as needed.

Construction

- Monitor for resolution of interface management and carry out cross functional coordination
- Coordination for Exception management
- Ensuring HSE and Quality systems compliance at site
- Coordinating for Site Audits
- Track mechanical completion/punch list by system/sub-system, support punch closure and readiness for commissioning.

Stakeholder management

- Tracking of action taken reports, task management, exception and escalation management
- Provide inputs and support in Benchmarking of business process and project execution
