Job Description: Service Engineer – Electrical

Role Overview

The Electrical Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of electrical systems and controls used in cranes and hoists.

The role requires strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering, hands-on troubleshooting ability, customer interaction skills, and a commitment to safety and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Install and commission electrical components and systems for cranes and hoists.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Perform wiring and connections of motors, controllers, VFDs, sensors, and safety devices.
- Conduct functional testing and commissioning of crane electrical systems.
- Perform Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and periodic health check-ups.
- Inspect contactors, relays, limit switches, motors, VFDs, control panels, and power distribution systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and breakdowns.
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and insulation testers.
- Analyse VFD error codes and program logs to identify root causes.
- Repair or replace faulty motors, drives, sensors, and control components.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdown and service calls.
- Follow electrical safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)



and PPE requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices.
- Provide technical support and basic training to customers and crane operators.
- Prepare service reports, maintenance records, inspection reports, and spare-parts documentation.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams and customers to minimize equipment downtime.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–10 years of experience in electrical service, maintenance, commissioning, or troubleshooting.
- Experience in industrial equipment, preferably cranes, hoists, or heavy machinery.
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems, components, and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with VFDs and industrial control systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of crane electrical systems and safety practices.
- Knowledge of LOTO and electrical safety procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle breakdowns and emergency situations calmly.
- Good customer communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹37,500.00 per month
