o lead the company's pan-India E-Rickshaw business, driving revenue growth, market expansion, dealer development, sales strategy, customer acquisition and overall business profitability.
The Business Head will be responsible for developing and executing the national business strategy and leading the Regional Sales Heads and the entire sales/channel organization.
A. National Business Strategy
- Develop and implement the company's national sales and business strategy.
- Define annual, quarterly and monthly business plans.
- Establish national sales targets based on market potential and company objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities and emerging EV markets.
- Develop strategies for increasing market share and brand visibility.
- Monitor industry trends, government EV policies and competitor strategies.
- Drive long-term business growth and profitability.
B. National Sales Management
- Own overall national sales volume, revenue and target achievement.
- Set targets for each region, state and sales territory.
- Monitor sales performance through regular MIS and business reviews.
- Develop corrective strategies for underperforming regions.
- Ensure effective product-wise and territory-wise sales planning.
- Optimize sales mix and contribution margins.
- Drive retail, wholesale, institutional and fleet sales.
C. Dealer & Channel Network
- Develop and implement the company's national dealer/distributor strategy.
- Expand the authorized dealer network across India.
- Identify and appoint strategically important dealers.
- Establish dealer selection, performance and evaluation criteria.
- Improve dealer productivity and profitability.
- Monitor dealer inventory, primary sales and retail sales.
- Develop channel incentive, margin and promotional strategies.
- Resolve major dealer/channel conflicts.
D. Regional Leadership
Lead and manage:
- Regional Sales Heads
- Zonal Sales Heads
- State Heads
- Area Sales Managers
- Territory Sales Managers
- Dealer Development Teams
- Institutional/Fleet Sales Teams
Responsibilities include:
- Set regional targets.
- Review regional performance.
- Conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews.
- Coach and develop senior sales leaders.
- Build a high-performance sales culture.
- Ensure accountability across the organization.
E. Market Expansion
- Identify new states, cities and rural markets for expansion.
- Develop state-wise market-entry strategies.
- Analyze competitor pricing, products, specifications and dealer margins.
- Identify high-potential markets for E-Rickshaw sales.
- Increase brand penetration in Tier-II, Tier-III and rural markets.
- Develop strategic partnerships to accelerate market expansion.
F. Fleet & Institutional Business
- Develop national relationships with fleet operators and institutional customers.
- Generate bulk-order and fleet-sales opportunities.
- Explore opportunities with:
- Fleet operators
- E-commerce/logistics companies
- Last-mile delivery companies
- Transport operators
- Institutional buyers
- Government/institutional tenders
- Develop strategic B2B partnerships.
G. EV Finance & Strategic Partnerships
- Develop relationships with banks, NBFCs and EV financing companies.
- Improve financing availability for dealers and end customers.
- Negotiate strategic financing schemes.
- Develop attractive EMI/finance programs in coordination with Finance teams.
- Build partnerships supporting customer acquisition.
H. Product & Market Feedback
- Work closely with Product Development, R&D; and Technical teams.
- Provide market feedback regarding:
- Vehicle performance
- Battery range
- Charging requirements
- Pricing
- Product features
- Customer preferences
- Competitor products
- Recommend new product variants based on market demand.
- Support new product launches and market positioning.
I. Pricing & Commercial Strategy
- Recommend national pricing strategy.
- Monitor competitor pricing and market discounts.
- Develop dealer margins and incentive structures.
- Ensure healthy contribution margins.
- Approve/recommend commercial proposals within delegated authority.
- Control excessive discounting and channel leakage.
J. Sales Forecasting & MIS
- Prepare annual sales budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor actual vs. budget performance.
- Establish sales dashboards and reporting systems.
- Track:
- Primary sales
- Secondary/retail sales
- Dealer stock
- Dealer outstanding
- State-wise sales
- Product-wise sales
- Market share
- Sales pipeline
- Present monthly and quarterly business reviews to the CEO/MD.
K. Revenue, Collection & Profitability
- Own business revenue and sales profitability.
- Monitor dealer outstanding and collection efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to credit policies.
- Reduce overdue dealer payments.
- Improve dealer ROI and channel profitability.
- Balance sales growth with working-capital requirements.
L. Brand & Marketing Coordination
- Work with Marketing to develop national marketing campaigns.
- Support product launches, exhibitions and EV events.
- Develop regional promotional strategies.
- Strengthen brand positioning against competitors.
- Support digital and offline lead-generation initiatives.
4. Decision-Making Authority
The position should have significant commercial and operational authority, including:
- Recommend/approve dealer appointments as per company policy.
- Recommend dealer termination or restructuring.
- Allocate national and regional sales targets.
- Recommend pricing and dealer margin structures.
- Recommend sales incentive schemes.
- Approve/recommend major commercial proposals.
- Recommend regional expansion plans.
- Recommend senior sales hiring.
- Review and restructure underperforming territories.
- Recommend marketing and promotional budgets.
- Negotiate strategic business partnerships within delegated authority.
Major decisions relating to pricing, capital expenditure, large institutional orders, credit exposure and company-wide commercial policy may remain subject to CEO/MD approval.
Desired Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
- 12–20+ years of overall sales/business experience
- Strong experience in Automobile / EV / E-Rickshaw / 3-Wheeler / Commercial Vehicle industry
- Proven experience managing pan-India or multi-state sales operations
- Experience managing Regional/Zonal/State Sales Heads
- Strong dealer network development experience
- Excellent understanding of Indian automotive/EV markets
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Experience in revenue and profitability management
- Robust leadership and strategic-planning ability
- Willingness to travel extensively across India
To build the company's E-Rickshaw business into a strong national EV brand by achieving sustainable sales growth, expanding the dealer network, increasing market share, developing strategic business partnerships and delivering profitable revenue growth across India.
Pay: Up to ₹90,000.00 per month
