Under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), the Communicative English & Soft Skills Trainer is responsible for bridging the employability gap for rural youth. The role focuses on transforming candidates into confident, job-ready professionals capable of clearing corporate interviews and sustaining employment.
Job Overview
- Job Title: Trainer – Communicative English & Soft Skills / Life Skills
- Project: DDU-GKY (Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India)
- Reports To: Centre Head / Quality & Training Manager
- Target Audience: Rural candidates aged 18–35 (entry-level job seekers)
Key Responsibilities1. Curriculum Delivery & Classroom Training
- Deliver non-domain training sessions strictly adhering to DDU-GKY Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and prescribed hourly schedules.
- Teach Functional & Communicative English: basic grammar, everyday workplace vocabulary, conversational fluency, reading comprehension, and basic qualified writing (emails, standard messages).
- Conduct Soft Skills & Life Skills training: grooming, personal hygiene, workplace etiquette, body language, team building, conflict resolution, and time management.
- Lead practical sessions using participatory tools: role-plays, mock group discussions, situational dialogues, and presentation sessions.
2. Employability & Placement Readiness
- Conduct regular mock interviews, individual feedback sessions, and resume-building workshops.
- Instill confidence, reduce stage fright, and train candidates on standard corporate interview behavior.
- Coordinate with the placement team to prepare candidates specifically for upcoming client drives and employer selection processes.
3. Assessments & Monitoring
- Conduct baseline evaluations at the start of the batch to assess English literacy and communication readiness.
- Administer periodic formative tests, weekly quizzes, and summative assessments to measure learner progress.
- Identify slow learners and provide remedial coaching or small-group mentoring.
4. DDU-GKY Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate daily logs, lesson plans, batch attendance, and session trackers as mandated by the DDU-GKY SOP.
- Maintain student portfolios, test evaluation sheets, and feedback records for Quality Assurance (Q&A;) audits, State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) inspections, and Central Technical Support Agency (CTSA) reviews.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Graduate or Post Graduate in English, Linguistics, Mass Communication, Psychology, Social Work, or any relevant discipline. (CELTA, TESOL, or Dale Carnegie certification is a strong advantage).
- Trainer Certification: Candidates holding or willing to obtain Trainer of Trainer (ToT) certification under the Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) / NSDC.
- Experience: 1 to 3+ years of experience in soft skills/English language training, preferably within government skill schemes (DDU-GKY, PMKVY, NULM) or NGO-led livelihood programs.
- Languages: High proficiency in verbal and written English, paired with strong command of the local regional language to facilitate bilingual explanations when necessary.

- High adaptability to follow structured compliance frameworks and documentation standards.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
