We are hiring a hands-on Junior Art Director to help shape the next standard of creative work at Pomelo. This is a maker-leader role: you will develop and present strong visual ideas, execute key work yourself, and guide a small group of 2–3 junior designers or video editors. You will report to Madhu Purokayastha, VP, and work within an 11-person creative team.

What you will do

- Translate brand, campaign, and content briefs into clear visual concepts and compelling creative work.
- Develop campaign moodboards, visual routes, storyboards, and coherent systems that hold across multiple formats.
- Produce hands-on design work for digital campaigns, social, websites, search, mobile, activations, infographics, motion, and promotional video.
- Edit video in Premiere Pro and create motion graphics in After Effects when the brief requires it.
- Set the visual direction for work produced by junior designers and editors; give specific, respectful feedback and maintain quality through delivery.
- Partner with copywriters, strategists, data analysts, technologists, and account teams from brief to final production.
- Present and defend creative choices internally and, where required, with clients.
- Maintain brand consistency while adapting ideas for Instagram, YouTube, websites, and other digital channels.




- Use generative-AI image and video tools professionally for exploration and production, then art-direct, composite, correct, and finish the output to a credible standard.
- Help improve Pomelo’s creative standards, references, and ways of working.

Essential experience and craft

- Approximately 4+ years of experience in a digital, advertising, or comparable fast-paced creative agency.
- Experience operating at senior visualizer, creative-lead, or comparable level, including guiding junior creatives.
- A strong portfolio showing conceptual campaigns, visual storytelling, typography, grid, composition, and colour judgment—not only isolated social posts or UI screens.
- Hands-on proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Hands-on Premiere Pro and video-editing experience.
- Hands-on After Effects and motion-graphics capability.
- Professional experience using Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Runway, or comparable generative-AI tools in a real creative workflow.
- Ability to art-direct and manually correct AI-assisted imagery or video rather than accepting raw output.
- Ability to explain your exact contribution to portfolio projects and the thinking behind key decisions.
- Experience mentoring, reviewing, or directing junior creatives.
- Confidence receiving feedback, presenting ideas, and balancing craft with deadlines.

Useful, but not required





- Working knowledge of Figma.
- Experience building shoot moodboards or supervising the creative team on a shoot.
- Familiarity with high-fidelity web mockups, UI/UX principles, or HTML/CSS.

This is not a remote role.

- Monday–Friday: on-site, 10:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Saturday: work from home, 10:00 AM–7:00 PM

Compensation

₹50,000–₹75,000 per month, with flexibility up to ₹1,00,000 for an exceptional candidate whose portfolio and experience strongly match the role.
