TiE Chandigarh

Chandigarh

Job title: Social Media Executive
Company: TiE Chandigarh
Location: Mohali, Punjab (in person)
Pay: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 a month
Job type: Full-time, Permanent · Fresher
Schedule: Day shift · Weekend availability · Event-driven hours

Run the social media of a 25,000-strong entrepreneur network. Day one, you're in charge.

Most social media jobs for freshers mean writing captions for somebody else's plan. This one is different. TiE Chandigarh has one person handling its entire online presence, and we want that person to be you: your calendar, your content, your camera, your numbers.

Who we are, in one paragraph

TiE is a global not-for-profit network of entrepreneurs, more than 60 chapters across the world, built on a single idea: give back. The Chandigarh chapter has been running since 2003 and today reaches over 25,000 founders, investors, mentors and students across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. We put on TiECON Chandigarh, the region's biggest founder conference, a two-thousand-person, eighty-speaker, three-day event, plus the TiE AI Summit with the Government of Haryana, and a full calendar of programmes through the year: TiE Women, TiE University, TYE for school students, a mentorship cohort, knowledge sessions and an angel investor network. In short: there is always something happening, and it all needs to be seen.

A week in this job

Monday you're reviewing last week's numbers and locking the content plan for the week ahead. Tuesday you're at a knowledge session with your phone out, catching the speaker's best two minutes and posting a story before the Q&A; ends. Wednesday you're editing that into a reel, designing a carousel from the takeaways in Canva, and writing a LinkedIn post that a busy CEO will actually read. Thursday you're messaging three members who spoke at the event so they re-share it, and replying to every comment and DM that came in. Friday you're scrolling with intent, picking two formats trending on Instagram and LinkedIn that you can adapt for the chapter next week. Then TiECON season arrives and all of the above happens at ten times the volume, across three days,

with early mornings and late nights.

If that sounds exhausting, this isn't the job. If it sounds like fun, keep reading.

What you'll actually own

Content. You plan the monthly calendar around our events and programmes, and you make the content yourself, reels, carousels, stories, posts, speaker and member spotlights, before-and-after event pieces, on Canva, CapCut or whatever you're fastest with. Clean copy, consistent look, no typos, ever.

Channels. Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp. You post every day, you answer every message and comment the same day, and you keep the community alive between events, not just during them.

Growth. Each channel has follower, reach and engagement targets. You own them, you have a plan for hitting them, and you can explain in a monthly report what worked and what you're changing.

Events. You're on the ground at every chapter event. You shoot, you interview, you post live, and the recap is up within 24 hours. You walk up to a founder you've never met and ask for thirty seconds on camera, and you get it.

Amplification. Members, speakers, sponsors and partner organisations get tagged, thanked and nudged to re-share. Every chapter moment should travel further than our own accounts.

Housekeeping. Weekly performance tracking, a monthly report to the Executive Director, and an organised archive of photos, videos, templates and logos that anyone can find things in.

You, if this is going to work

- You already run social media accounts, your own, a college society's, a club's, a small brand's or a creator's, and you can show us the links. That's the single biggest thing we look at.
- You're online all day anyway and you notice formats and trends before they peak.
- Your English,

spoken and written, is sharp. You can hold a conversation in Hindi and Punjabi at an event.
- You're an extrovert. Strangers, senior founders, nervous students: you're comfortable with all of them.
- You're hands-on with Canva and a mobile video editor, and you can shoot usable footage on a phone.
- Nobody has to chase you. Daily posting happens because you said it would.
- You've read the part about event hours, especially around TiECON, and you're in.
- Nice to have: a startup, media or creator-economy stint; basic photography; Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn analytics or a scheduling tool; interest in the startup world; a two-wheeler.
- Fresh graduates are welcome. We don't care which degree, only what you've built and how you communicate.

Pay and terms

₹20,000 to ₹25,000 a month depending on what you've done and how well you do in the process, agreed at shortlisting. Cell phone reimbursement. Full-time, in person at our Mohali office. Working hours stretch around events, including weekends.

How we hire, start to finish, in about two weeks

We review applications every week and reply to every one within two working days. If your accounts look promising, you get a 15–20 minute phone call. Then a short take-home brief, three to four hours of work: a two-week content calendar for one of our programmes, a reel script, a carousel and a LinkedIn post, plus a note on how you'd grow the account. We discuss it with you on a call. Then you come to the office, meet the Executive Director and chapter leadership, and do one live exercise: capture and draft a post from something real happening that day. Offer follows reference checks, usually within two days.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month

- Cell phone reimbursement
