Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Functional Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating software applications against business and functional requirements, identifying defects, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. The Functional Tester will work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
Create, review, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
Execute manual functional testing for web, mobile, and desktop applications.
Validate application functionality against business requirements.
Identify, document, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and verify fixes.
Perform regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing support.
Participate in requirement review meetings and provide testing input.
Prepare test execution reports and communicate testing status to stakeholders.
Ensure testing activities are completed within project timelines.
Support production deployment validation and post-release testing.
Contribute to process improvements and quality assurance best practices.

Required Skills
Technical Skills




Robust understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
Experience in functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
Knowledge of defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
Experience creating test cases and test scripts.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Understanding of SDLC processes.
Basic SQL knowledge for database validation.
Experience testing web-based and mobile applications.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

ISTQB certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Experience working in Agile projects is an advantage.

Preferred Experience
Testing enterprise applications, ERP, CRM, or SaaS products.
Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman.
Basic automation testing knowledge is a plus.
Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar ALM tools.
Success Metrics
Test case coverage and execution effectiveness.
Defect detection rate and defect leakage reduction.
Timely completion of testing activities.
Quality of documentation and reporting.
Contribution to overall product quality and customer satisfaction.
