Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant / Finance Manager to
oversee the day-to-day financial operations, accounting, and compliance functions of our
institution in Coimbatore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing tuition fee
collections, managing vendor payments, preparing financial reports, assisting with
internal/external audits, and ensuring adherence to statutory tax guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Accounting
Maintain daily books of accounts using accounting software (Tally / ERP / Campus
Management Systems).
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance
Sheets, Income & Expenditure Accounts, and Cash Flow statements.
Manage accounts payable (vendor/supplier invoices, maintenance bills) and accounts
receivable (fee collections, grants, donations).
Perform regular bank reconciliations and track cash flow across multiple institutional
bank accounts.
2. Fee Collection & Student Accounts
Oversee student fee structures, tuition payment processing, hostel/transportation fees,
and scholarship distributions.
Monitor outstanding dues, generate collection reports, and coordinate with
administrative departments to address fee defaults.
3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
Ensure strict compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations (GST, TDS,
Professional Tax, EPF, and ESI).
Prepare and file periodic tax returns (GST, TDS) and coordinate with tax authorities
as needed.
Ensure adherence to compliance requirements specific to educational trusts and non-
profit/charitable institutions (e.g., Section 12A / 80G under Income Tax Act, FCRA if
applicable).
4. Auditing & Payroll
Lead internal audits and coordinate with external Chartered Accountants / Statutory
Auditors for year-end audits.
Process monthly payroll, salary disbursements, and staff benefits in coordination with
the HR department.
Assist in preparing the annual institutional budget and track actual expenses against
budget allocations.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
o Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
o Semi-qualified CA (CA Inter) / M.Com / MBA in Finance with relevant
experience will also be considered.
Experience: 3 to 7 years in accounting; experience working within an educational
institution, university, or audit firm in Coimbatore is a strong plus.
Technical Skills:
o Hands-on proficiency in Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime, MS Excel (Advanced),
and ERP tools.
o Sound knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), Income Tax,
GST, and payroll statutory compliances.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Tamil is essential for interacting
with management, staff, students, and local authorities.
Desirable Competencies
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
High integrity and confidentiality when handling institutional funds and reports.
Ability to present clear financial insights to college management, trust members, and
board directors.
Pay: From ₹40,000.00 per month
