Job Title: Senior Design Manager – Corporate Workplace Projects

Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Design Manager to oversee the design and delivery of large-scale corporate workplace projects. As a Design Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our workplace environments are cutting-edge, functional, and aligned with client's business goals. You will lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with external partners, and manage all aspects of design from concept to implementation to create exceptional, future-forward workplaces that meet the needs of our employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design management of large corporate workplace projects, ensuring adherence to design standards, budget, and timelines.
Act as the primary point of contact at the project level for client regarding design-related matters.
Collaborate with internal cross functional teams including real estate, workplace strategy, workplace experience, property management, construction management, sustainability & operational technology, corporate security, brand and technology to develop design concepts that support business needs.
Manage relationships with external design firms, architects, consultants, and contractors, ensuring effective communication and delivery of high-quality projects.
Oversee design phases including schematic design, design development, and construction documentation, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and sustainability initiatives.
Provide leadership in space planning, interior design, and furniture selection,
ensuring the workplace environment fosters productivity, employee well-being, and innovation while aligning with client's Design Standards.
Oversee the Client's Design Review Process ensuring:
§ Design reviews are performed by architects in alignment with client's Design Review Process, compliance with corporate guidelines, accessibility standards, and building codes.
§ Stakeholders are identified and provide review / approvals in alignment with client's Design Review Process
Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and construction teams during the construction phase to ensure design intent is maintained.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in workplace design, applying innovative solutions to meet evolving needs.
Provide post-occupancy evaluations and feedback loops for continuous improvement of workplace environments.
Qualifications:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
§ 15+ years of experience in managing corporate workplace design projects, preferably for large organizations or financial institutions.
§ Strong knowledge of workplace trends, space planning, sustainability practices, and building systems.
§ Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
§ Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
§ Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
§ Knowledge of local building codes, ADA requirements, and other regulatory standards.
§ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a rapid-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
§ Experience working within a large corporate environment, particularly in the financial sector.
§ Familiarity with WELL Building Standards,
LEED certification, or other sustainability frameworks.
§ Experience in managing design projects that involve complex technology integration and hybrid workplace strategies.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid role with some travel required to other corporate locations as necessary. The ideal candidate is flexible, adaptable, and capable of managing a diverse range of workplace projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
