About the Role

We are seeking experienced Mainframe Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with extensive expertise in legacy mainframe environments and a strong understanding of modernization initiatives. The ideal candidates will possess deep technical knowledge of core mainframe technologies and demonstrate the ability to leverage emerging AI-driven approaches to accelerate application analysis, transformation, and modernization.

This role is an excellent chance for professionals who can bridge the gap between traditional mainframe development and next-generation AI-assisted modernization strategies.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze, maintain, and enhance complex mainframe applications and batch processes.
- Review and interpret legacy application code, copybooks, job streams, and file structures.
- Support application modernization and transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess system dependencies and business logic.
- Develop and optimize batch processing workflows and scheduling mechanisms.
- Leverage AI/ML concepts and tools to improve productivity, application understanding, and modernization outcomes.
- Participate in the design and creation of AI-based agent workflows for mainframe-related use cases.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and best practices for mainframe environments.
- Prepare technical documentation, impact assessments, and modernization recommendations.

- Experience working on large-scale enterprise mainframe systems.
- Exposure to modernization programs involving cloud, automation, and AI technologies.
- Experience combining traditional mainframe expertise with AI-assisted modernization initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in distributed and remote teams across multiple geographies.

Experience Required

- Significant hands-on experience in mainframe technologies and legacy system support.
- Proven track record in application analysis, maintenance, enhancement, and modernization projects.
- Experience with AI-enabled development, application discovery, or modernization frameworks is highly desirable.
