As part of our growing India operations, we are expanding our presence in Kerala and strengthening our student counselling and client-service capabilities. We are therefore looking for experienced professionals who understand the Kerala student market, particularly for New Zealand and Australia, and who can deliver knowledgeable, ethical, and high-quality counselling.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Core Immigration is seeking an experienced and result-oriented Study Visa Counsellor – New Zealand to join our Kochi team. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in New Zealand and/or Australia education counselling, with strong knowledge of student admissions, education pathways and student visa processes.
The role involves student counselling, client communication, lead follow-up, calling, attending enquiries, and supporting students through the education and application process, with a strong emphasis on professional service and conversion.
This is a client-facing and target-oriented position involving student consultation, inbound and outbound calling, parent interaction, profile assessment, application management, follow-ups and conversion of prospective students into successful admissions and visa applications. Fluency in Malayalam and English is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStudent Counselling & Profile Assessment
· Counsel students and parents regarding study opportunities in New Zealand and Australia.
· Assess academic, financial and career profiles to identify suitable study pathways.
· Recommend appropriate courses, institutions and education pathways.
· Explain admission requirements, tuition fees, living costs and relevant post-study opportunities.
· Provide accurate, transparent and professional counselling.
Calling & Lead Management
· Handle inbound calls and student/parent enquiries professionally.
· Conduct outbound calls and systematic follow-ups with prospective students.
· Understand student requirements and address queries effectively.
· Build strong relationships with students and parents.
· Convert qualified enquiries into counselling appointments, applications and admissions.
Admissions & Visa Processing
· Manage student applications for New Zealand institutions from counselling through admission.
· Review academic and supporting documents and assess eligibility.
· Guide students through the New Zealand student visa process and documentation requirements.
· Ensure applications and visa files are complete, accurate and submitted within timelines.
· Track application progress and provide timely updates to students.
CRM & Case Management
· Maintain accurate records of leads, counselling interactions, applications, offers and visa outcomes.
· Ensure all student interactions and case progress are updated in the CRM.
· Maintain a structured follow-up pipeline.
· Coordinate with admissions, documentation and visa-processing teams.
· Manage multiple student cases while maintaining service quality.
Sales, Conversion & Business Development
· Achieve assigned counselling, application and conversion targets.
· Maintain a strong pipeline and maximise conversion of qualified leads.
· Build relationships with students, parents and referral sources.
· Participate in education fairs, seminars, webinars and student engagement activities.
· Contribute to student recruitment and business development activities across Kerala.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
· 3–5 years of relevant experience in overseas education/student visa counselling.
· Strong hands-on experience with Recent Zealand and/or Australia student applications.
· Good knowledge of New Zealand institutions, courses, admission requirements and student visa processes.
· Fluent Malayalam with strong English communication skills.
· Excellent telephone counselling and interpersonal skills.
· Strong profile assessment, counselling and conversion ability.
· Proven experience in inbound/outbound calling and lead follow-up.
· Good documentation, organisation and case-management skills.
· Working knowledge of CRM systems.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a confident, proactive and hands-on education counsellor who can independently manage the student journey—from the first enquiry and counselling through admission, documentation and visa processing.
The ideal candidate should combine New Zealand/Australia knowledge, excellent counselling, Kerala market understanding, calling and follow-up discipline, and strong conversion skills. Experience working with Kerala-based students and parents will be an added advantage.
