Field Reporter (Telugu)

Headcount: 1 at launch, 2 at full strength

Reports to: Regional Editorial Lead

Location: Hyderabad, T elangana - on-site

The newsgathering role. W orks sources, breaks stories, verifies claims, and files from the ground. Without this seat the unit can

only comment on news other people gather.

Responsibilities

Source and develop original regional political stories rather than reacting to what has already been published.

Build and maintain contacts across parties, administration, civil society, and district-level politics.

V erify claims and gather documentation before anything reaches the scriptwriter or the edit bay.

File field reports, interviews, and vox pops from constituencies, press conferences, rallies, and events.

Offer right of reply before any allegation against a named person is published, and record the offer whether or not it is

taken up.

Maintain a source log and keep documentation on file per the records standard.

T ravel across the state as coverage requires, often at short notice.

Requirements

2+ years reporting in T elugu news - print, broadcast,



or digital.

Existing source relationships in T elangana politics, and the judgement to recognise what will not stand up.

Native T elugu; working English for source material and documents.

Published clippings or broadcast credits. Required at shortlisting.

Own two-wheeler and a valid licence.

Based in or willing to relocate to Hyderabad; on-site role.

Native or fluent Telugu; working English. Hindi an advantage.

Comfortable with a six-day content week and occasional evening or weekend work around political events.

Signs the standard Molitics engagement terms including the editorial neutrality clause and an NDA. No holding of

party office, contesting elections, or public campaigning during the engagement.

Preferred

R TI, public records, and court filing familiarity.

District-level coverage experience outside Hyderabad.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
