About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Phlebotomist to join our diagnostic sample collection centre in Bengaluru. The candidate will be responsible for collecting blood and other diagnostic samples safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care, hygiene, infection control, and sample handling.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform venipuncture and blood sample collection from patients of different age groups.
- Follow the correct order of draw and ensure proper tube selection, labeling, and sample handling.
- Collect urine and other routine diagnostic samples as required.
- Verify patient details and test requirements before sample collection.
- Ensure samples are correctly labeled and prepared for transportation to the central laboratory.
- Maintain proper sample storage, handling, and transportation protocols.
- Follow strict infection-control and biomedical-waste disposal procedures.
- Use PPE appropriately and maintain a clean and hygienic collection area.
- Safely dispose of needles, sharps, and other biomedical waste in designated containers.
- Maintain daily records of samples collected and dispatched.
- Handle patients courteously and professionally, especially children, elderly patients, and patients who may be anxious about blood collection.
- Identify and appropriately manage difficult draws, fainting, or other common reactions during collection.
- Coordinate with the diagnostic laboratory/logistics team for timely sample pickup.




- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and test reports.
- Keep phlebotomy equipment and the collection area clean, organized, and adequately stocked.

Requirements

- DMLT / B.Sc. MLT / relevant phlebotomy qualification preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in phlebotomy or diagnostic sample collection preferred.
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture, order of draw, sample handling, and infection control.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently and interacting directly with patients.
- Should be punctual, responsible, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional approach with patients.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in a diagnostic laboratory or sample collection centre.
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood collection.
- Knowledge of common diagnostic tests and sample requirements.
- Familiarity with basic computer/data-entry tasks.
- Experience with home sample collection would be an advantage.
