JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Factory Manager to oversee the complete manufacturing and factory operations of a furniture business.

The candidate will be responsible for production planning, manpower management, quality control, raw materials, inventory, machinery, delivery schedules, cost control and overall factory productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Production Management
- Plan and manage daily, weekly and monthly production.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the required timelines.
- Monitor production processes from raw material to finished furniture.
- Improve production efficiency and reduce wastage.
- Ensure timely completion of customer and showroom orders.
- Manpower Management
- Manage factory workforce, supervisors and production teams.
- Plan manpower according to production requirements.
- Allocate work and monitor employee productivity.
- Maintain discipline and attendance.
- Train and develop supervisors and workers.
- Furniture Manufacturing
- Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing processes.
- Experience with materials such as wood, plywood, MDF, veneer, laminates, foam, fabric, hardware, etc.
- Knowledge of cutting, carpentry, machining, polishing, upholstery, assembly and finishing processes.
- Coordinate between different production sections.
- Quality Control
- Maintain required quality standards for finished products.
- Identify production defects and implement corrective actions.




- Reduce rejection, rework and customer complaints.
- Establish quality checks at different stages of production.
- Raw Material & Inventory
- Monitor availability of raw materials and consumables.
- Coordinate with purchase and stores teams.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Control material wastage and stock discrepancies.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Maintenance & Machinery
- Ensure proper functioning of production machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Minimize machine downtime.
- Ensure proper safety practices while operating machinery.
- Cost Control
- Control production costs and wastage.
- Monitor material consumption and labour productivity.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Reduce unnecessary expenses without compromising quality.
- Dispatch & Delivery
- Coordinate with warehouse, logistics and showroom teams.
- Ensure finished products are ready as per dispatch schedules.
- Monitor pending orders and delivery commitments.
- Ensure proper packing and loading of furniture.
- MIS & Reporting
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports.
- Monitor production target vs. actual output.
- Track rejection, rework, wastage and productivity.
- Report operational issues and improvement plans to management.
- Safety & Compliance
- Maintain factory safety standards.




- Ensure workers follow safety procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and workplace discipline.
- Coordinate with HR/Admin for statutory and employee-related requirements.

- 10+ years of experience in furniture manufacturing/factory operations.
- Experience managing a complete factory or large production unit.
- Experience handling production manpower.
- Solid knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes.
- Experience in production planning, quality and inventory management.
- Proven ability to achieve production targets and delivery schedules.

PREFERRED:

- Experience in large-scale furniture manufacturing.
- Experience supplying furniture to multiple retail showrooms.
- Experience with customized furniture production.
- Experience in lean manufacturing/process improvement.
- Experience handling supervisors and multiple production departments.
