Job Title: Data Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and analytical Data Engineer to join our engineering team at WebSenor in Udaipur. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reliable data pipelines and data-processing systems that support business applications, analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with SQL, Python, databases, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline development, along with a strong understanding of data quality, performance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into data warehouses, databases, and other storage systems.
- Develop efficient and optimized SQL queries for data processing and analysis.
- Work with relational and non-relational databases to manage and process large datasets.
- Perform data cleaning, transformation, validation, and quality checks.
- Build and maintain automated data workflows and scheduled data processing jobs.
- Integrate data from APIs, applications, databases, files, and third-party platforms.
- Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot failures, performance issues, and data inconsistencies.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability across systems.
- Optimize database queries, data pipelines, and processing workflows for performance.
- Collaborate with software developers, QA engineers, analysts, and business teams to understand data requirements.
- Implement appropriate data validation and error-handling mechanisms.
- Maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, schemas, workflows, and processes.
- Follow best practices for data security, access control, and data governance.
- Participate in designing data models and database schemas based on project requirements.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.




- Hands-on programming experience with Python.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline architecture.
- Experience working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar.
- Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and database design.
- Knowledge of data cleaning, transformation, and validation techniques.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and extracting data from external sources.
- Understanding of Git/version-control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and ability to work effectively within a team.

Positive to Have

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of data warehouses such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
- Exposure to Apache Spark / PySpark.
- Knowledge of Docker and basic CI/CD concepts.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Understanding of data visualization or BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with cloud-based storage such as Amazon S3.
- Basic understanding of data engineering best practices, data governance, and security.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering, ETL, database development, or a similar role.
- Candidates with strong project-based experience and relevant technical skills may also be considered.
