CICS Programmmer

About the Role

L1: We are seeking a CICS Security Specialist to lead security integration for CICS Transaction Server during the ACF2 to RACF migration. This role will ensure CICS region, transaction, program, resource, file, terminal, command, temporary storage, transient data, intercommunication, service ID, certificate, TLS, and operational controls are converted, validated, and operationalized without disrupting critical business transaction flows.

Key Responsibilities

· Own CICS security conversion design from ACF2 rules to RACF profiles, groups, permits, and CICS class-specific controls.

- Define RACF controls for CICS regions, transactions, programs, files, terminals, commands, temporary storage, transient data, and intercommunication.

· Validate CICS started task IDs, region IDs, service IDs, application IDs, surrogate access, and batch integration authorities.

· Coordinate digital certificate, keyring, TLS, and secure CICS connectivity controls with the infrastructure and RACF engineering leads.

· Review CICS SIT, CSD, RDO, PLT, security exits, inter-region communication,



and connection flows for migration impact.

· Lead CICS regression testing, connectivity testing, transaction authorization testing, resource access validation, and negative authorization testing.

· Troubleshoot CICS authorization failures using RACF messages, CICS traces, SMF records, region logs, and application diagnostics.

· Coordinate application owner sign-off for CICS workloads in each migration wave.

· Produce CICS security evidence and BAU support procedures for post-migration operations.

Experience and Qualifications

· 12+ years of CICS, transaction services, or mainframe middleware security experience.

· Robust knowledge of CICS TS security in RACF or ACF2 environments.

· Experience supporting critical production CICS transaction workloads in regulated environments.

· Experience with TLS, digital certificates, service IDs, CICS regression testing, and production cutover support.
