Migration Testing & Cutover Lead

About the Role

L1: We are seeking a ESM Migration Testing & Cutover Lead to own the end-to-end test strategy, migration rehearsals, production cutover, fallback, defect governance, compare validation, and hypercare execution for the ACF2 to RACF migration and RBAC conversion program. The role will coordinate Vendors, execution partners, security, infrastructure, middleware, applications, operations, risk, and change teams to ensure each migration wave is evidence-based and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

- Define the end-to-end test and cutover strategy for ACF2 to RACF migration and RBAC conversion.
- Create test coverage model across RACF engineering, infrastructure, CICS/MQ, Db2, IMS, batch, USS, network, storage, applications, and operations.
- Own compare report validation, access simulation outcomes, defect triage, retest evidence, and residual risk tracking.
- Plan and execute mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, implementation rehearsals, production cutover, fallback, and hypercare operating model.
- Define entry and exit criteria for conversion cycles, system integration testing, application validation, operational readiness, production migration, and hypercare exit.
- Coordinate bridge calls, command execution sequence,



implementation checkpoints, communication cadence, escalation model, and go/no-go governance.
- Ensure defects are prioritized by business impact, authorization risk, operational risk, and cutover criticality.
- Validate runbooks, rollback plans, monitoring, support guides, change records, evidence packs, and post-implementation validation steps.
- Provide leadership-ready readiness reports covering test progress, open defects, risks, decisions, dependencies, and cutover status.
- Ensure production migration evidence is complete, controlled, approved, and reusable for audit and control review.

Experience and Qualifications

- 12+ years of mainframe migration, testing, release management, production implementation, or infrastructure transformation experience.
- Experience coordinating complex mainframe cutovers across security, infrastructure, application, vendor, and operations workstreams.
- Robust knowledge of access validation, compare reporting, defect governance, fallback planning, and regulated production change control.
