This role is responsible for the reliability, performance, and scalability of mission-critical MySQL database environments. You will work closely with Operations and Development teams to design, administer, monitor, and continuously improve production databases. The position combines hands-on database administration with automation, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and cloud modernization. You will support highly available environments across global data centers while helping strengthen operational efficiency and resilience. The role offers exposure to cloud database technologies, scripting, replication, clustering, and modern automation practices. It is well suited to an experienced database qualified who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative, globally distributed environment.

Accountabilities:
- Design, build, configure, and administer highly available, reliable,



and high-performing MySQL databases.
- Support production database environments operating across global data centers and maintain high levels of system availability.
- Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize MySQL replication and clustering, including master-master replication.
- Monitor database performance indicators such as I/O, CPU utilization, queries, and other relevant metrics.
- Perform database performance tuning, backup and recovery activities, and proactive monitoring to prevent operational issues.
- Investigate and resolve complex database problems, ensuring timely restoration and continued system availability.
- Develop SQL queries and database reports to support internal stakeholders, reporting, and analytics needs.
- Automate recurring database administration and operational tasks using Python, Shell, or Bash scripting.
