Position Description: CGI is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with 8+ years of IT experience and strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and AWS Cloud.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications in a challenging technical environment. The role requires robust technical expertise, problem-solving skills, ownership, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and Microservices following industry best practices.
Build clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code.
Design and implement cloud-native applications on AWS.
Work with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatch.
Contribute to application architecture, technical design, and distributed system solutions.
Implement solutions focused on scalability, performance, availability, security, and reliability.
Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and/or Azure DevOps.
Collaborate with DevOps teams on build, deployment, release, and automation activities.
Troubleshoot application and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, and quality standards.
Work closely with QA, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
