Job Description:

HEAD – SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Key Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain Planning & Strategy

-
Develop and execute monthly, quarterly and annual Supply Chain Plans aligned with sales forecasts, market demand, production requirements and overall business objectives.

-
Lead and oversee the end-to-end Supply Chain Management function across SML/Sumil units, covering Material Planning, Stores, Warehousing, Logistics, Import–Export, Inventory Management, GST/Tax coordination and related SCM activities.

-
Translate business and customer requirements into effective supply, inventory and logistics strategies.

-
Develop robust supply-chain processes to improve service levels, cost efficiency, inventory optimisation and operational reliability.

2. Cross-Functional Coordination

-
Coordinate closely with Sales & Marketing, Production, Purchase, Finance, QA/QC, EHS and other functional departments to understand customer requirements, seasonal demand, production priorities and business-critical materials.

Ensure effective communication and alignment between demand, production,



procurement, inventory and dispatch functions.

Coordinate with management and relevant departments during supply-chain disruptions and emergencies.

3. Material Planning & Availability

Prepare, implement and monitor Material Requirement Plans (MRP), production plans and supply schedules considering:

Demand forecasts

Inventory levels

Production capacity

-
Material lead times

-
Supplier availability

-
Working-capital requirements

-
Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packing materials, consumables and other critical inputs to prevent production stoppages, customer-service failures and avoidable production losses.

Establish early-warning mechanisms for potential material shortages and supply disruptions.

Monitor critical materials and develop contingency plans for supply risks.
