Role : Senior Mainframe Developer
Required Qualifications
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in mainframe application development, maintenance, and production support.
• Strong hands-on expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, SQL, JCL, and IBM z/OS.
• Experience developing, supporting, and troubleshooting both online and batch mainframe applications.
• Hands-on experience providing production batch support, including incident triage, abend resolution, job recovery, and service restoration.
• Proven experience delivering solutions in an Agile environment while adhering to development best practices, coding standards, and testing procedures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting. Preferred Mainframe Technical Skillset
• COBOL programming, enhancement, debugging, and application maintenance.
• CICS online transaction development, support,
and performance troubleshooting.
• DB2 database programming, SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• JCL development, batch job scheduling, monitoring, restart, recovery, and dependency management.
• VSAM file handling, dataset management, and mainframe file-processing concepts.
• Mainframe utilities including SORT, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, DFSORT, and SYNCSORT.
• TSO, ISPF, SDSF, SPUFI, and production job-management tools.
• Production support, incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, problem management, and service restoration.
• MQ, CICS web services, and integration between mainframe and distributed applications.
• Performance tuning for COBOL programs, CICS transactions, DB2 SQL, and batch jobs.
• Mainframe application design, code review, testing, deployment, release support, and documentation. full stack
