We run programmes in the remotest corners of India and urban areas in the areas of
Health Nutrition, Education, Child Protection and Livelihood Economic Wellbeing in
order to facilitate quality education, healthcare and protection from harm and abuse and
life-saving aid during emergencies to children.
Project Brief:
The Toyota Elementary School Project will be implemented in 4 schools in Ramanagara
district. The project focuses on behavioural assessment and implementation of the
Toyota Elementary Curriculum, including rule adherence, road-safety simulated
learning, foundational literacy and numeracy activities, team-building, morning exercise
and waste segregation. The project also includes a Hub-and-Spoke model, where 10
Hub schools will support outreach to surrounding Spoke schools.
Role Purpose:
The Academic Support Fellow will support the implementation of the Toyota
Elementary Curriculum in the assigned school, facilitate student-focused activities,
support baseline/midline/endline assessments and document student participation,
learning and behavioural outcomes. The role will work closely with school teachers and
the project team to ensure activities are implemented as per the agreed schedule and
SOPs.
Role and responsibilities:
- Support implementation of the Toyota Elementary Curriculum in the assigned school
in coordination with the Project team.
- Conduct and support baseline, midline and endline assessments as per the approved
assessment framework and project schedule.
- Conduct observational assessments and document students participation, behaviour,
rule adherence and application of learning.
- Orient students on basic rule adherence and reinforce the concepts through
education, demonstration, practice and monitoring.
- Facilitate road-safety simulated learning, including the Stop-Look-Think-Decide-
Cross concept, and support students to practise safe road-crossing behaviour in the
school walk path.
- Facilitate Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) board activities and encourage
participation of students on a regular basis.
- Conduct team-building activities and support students in developing collaboration,
discipline and participation during morning assembly.
- Support morning exercise activities as per the Toyota/TKM SOP and encourage
student participation and synchronisation.
- Promote proper waste segregation and disposal in designated bins as per the project
process.
- Prepare and maintain activity schedules, attendance/participation records,
assessment records and other required project documentation.
- Coordinate with the Head Teacher, teachers and project team for implementation of
planned activities.
- Provide regular feedback on student participation, challenges and progress to the
Project Manager/assigned supervisor.
- Support preparation of periodic reports, documentation and evidence of programme
implementation.
- Undertake any additional project-related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

- Quality and timely completion of baseline, midline and endline assessment
activities.
- Student participation and demonstrated understanding/application of project
concepts.
- Quality of documentation, records and timely submission of reports.

Experience
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in teaching,
academic facilitation, education programmes,
school/community-based work or child-focused
programmes. Experience working with schools and
children is preferred.
Essential
Qualification
Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized
university or college is essential. Weightage will be
given to candidates with D.Ed/B.ED and experience
related to women candidate/or anyone having sound
knowledge on Child Protection Community

The role holder will not have contact with children and/or young people,

The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people

in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country
programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are
responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
