About the Role

We are looking for a Production Engineer with a strong Mechanical Engineering background to manage and supervise manufacturing activities related to SMC/GRP water tank production.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth production operations, effective manpower utilization, product quality, optimum resource utilization, and timely achievement of production targets.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes and be comfortable working directly on the factory shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities according to production targets and dispatch schedules.

- Supervise the manufacturing of SMC/GRP water tanks, including moulding, panel production, assembly, and related processes.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, BOMs, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Quality, Stores, and Dispatch teams for smooth production operations.
- Prepare and maintain daily production reports and production status updates.




- Allocate manpower according to production requirements and monitor worker productivity.
- Ensure optimum utilization of raw materials, tools, machines, moulds, and other production resources.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize material wastage during production.
- Identify production-related issues and coordinate with the concerned departments for timely resolution.
- Ensure production is carried out as per approved drawings, dimensions, BOMs, and work instructions.
- Coordinate with the Quality team for inspection of panels, tanks, accessories, and finished products.
- Ensure proper assembly and installation of tank components, including panels, flanges, nozzles, internal/external supports, ladders, and other applicable components.
- Monitor shop-floor safety, housekeeping, and proper use of PPE.
- Ensure proper maintenance of machines, tools, moulds, and production equipment, and report maintenance requirements when necessary.
- Assist in production planning and estimation of manpower, material, and machine requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and production efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production records, checklists,



and related documentation.
- Coordinate with the Dispatch team to ensure completed tanks are ready for packing and dispatch as per schedule.
- Required Technical SkillsGood knowledge of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
- Basic understanding of SMC / GRP / FRP manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and dimensions.
- Knowledge of production planning and shop-floor management.
- Understanding of BOM, material consumption, and manufacturing processes.
- Positive working knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting.
- Ability to identify production issues and implement practical solutions.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Good communication, coordination, and team-management skills.

- Sheet Moulding / Compression Moulding

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Production Engineer who is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, supervising shop-floor activities, managing manpower, coordinating with multiple departments, and ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining quality and safety standards.
