- Position Summary

We are seeking an AI Associate to work directly with the partners across two areas. The first is the development of internal tools and automations that reduce manual effort across the firm. The second is the preparation of business development and marketing material, including proposals, presentations, correspondence and digital content. AI tools are to be applied throughout both areas of the role. The position is suited to a capable generalist with genuine proficiency in AI tools, rather than to a specialist in either software development or professional services.

- Key Responsibilities

AI tools are central to both areas set out below and are expected to be used routinely in the work described.

A. AI-Enabled Process Automation and Internal Tool Development

• Identify recurring manual processes within the firm and, using AI tools, develop practical solutions to replace them. Current requirements include a compliance and deadline tracker, an automated document-collection and follow-up system, engagement status dashboards for the partners, a proposal and engagement-letter generator, and an internal search facility over the firm’s reference material.

• Deliver working solutions within short timeframes using AI coding assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) together with low-code and scripting platforms (Google Apps Script, Python, Airtable, Zapier / Make / n8n, Streamlit, Power Automate). The firm is not prescriptive as to the tools used, provided the result is reliable and maintainable.

• Consult the relevant teams and document each workflow accurately before applying any AI-based solution to it.

• Test all deliverables, prepare concise user documentation covering the AI tools involved, and support colleagues in adopting them.

• Observe strict confidentiality in respect of client and firm data. Client information is to be processed only through AI accounts provided and approved by the firm, never through personal accounts. The Associate will assist in framing and maintaining the firm’s policy on this, having regard to skilled confidentiality obligations and applicable data protection law.

B.

AI-Assisted Business Development and Marketing Support

• Prepare proposals, presentations and responses to client and prospect enquiries, using AI tools to draft, structure and refine, working from partner briefings, notes and research.

• Produce factual firm collateral with the assistance of AI tools, including capability statements, service descriptions, one-pagers and case summaries.

• Maintain the firm’s website content and LinkedIn presence, and prepare technical updates, articles and educational material on regulatory developments, using AI tools for research and drafting support.

• Conduct AI-assisted market and sector research to support partner-led conversations, and monitor regulatory and market developments relevant to the firm’s practice.

• Draft external correspondence at the direction of the partners, using AI tools to improve speed and consistency of output.

• Ensure that all external communication complies with the ICAI Code of Ethics and the Council Guidelines for Advertisement, including the prohibitions on solicitation, testimonials, comparative claims and exaggerated statements of expertise.

Partners retain ownership of all client relationships and outbound communication. The Associate is responsible for ensuring that supporting material is accurate, well-researched and professionally presented.

- Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Certification or demonstrable experience in artificial intelligence. Either a recognised certification or course in AI and its practical applications, or documented experience of applying AI tools at work or on projects. Candidates must be able to discuss specific examples of their own work — tools built, processes automated or material produced.

• Sufficient technical comfort to read a script, diagnose errors and iterate with an AI assistant until it works. A formal qualification in computer science is not required.

• A high standard of written and spoken English, appropriate to material addressed to partners and to international clients.

• Sound judgement in respect of AI-generated output, which must be reviewed and verified by the Associate before submission.

• Willingness to engage with unfamiliar technical subject matter and to seek clarification where required.

• Willingness to work within the professional communication norms that apply to this firm. Practices common in unregulated sectors — testimonials, comparative claims and unsolicited outbound prospecting — are not available in this role.

• 1–3 years of experience. Backgrounds in operations, automation, marketing, content, design, start-ups, founder’s office or self-directed development are equally welcome. A portfolio of built work will carry significant weight.

• No prior background in chartered accountancy, taxation, audit or finance is required. Candidates from any discipline will be considered. The subject matter will be unfamiliar at the outset, and appropriate training and support will be provided. The firm places greater weight on demonstrated ability with AI tools than on domain knowledge.

Preferred

• Familiarity with Python, SQL, Google Apps Script or VBA.

• Prior experience in B2B marketing or content development.

• Design capability (Canva, Figma or equivalent).

• Exposure to international clients or to working across time zones.

- What the Role Offers

• Direct working exposure to the partners and to the firm’s strategic decision-making.

• Substantive ownership, with tools developed in this role being used across the firm.

• An environment in which AI experimentation is actively encouraged and resourced.

- Position Details

• Reporting to: the Partners.

• Location: Nariman Point, Mumbai (in-office).

• Working days: Monday to Saturday; 2nd and 4th Saturdays off.

• Compensation: ₹5–6 LPA fixed, together with performance-linked variable. Negotiable according to experience and fit.

• Commencement: Immediate, or within 30 days.

• Tools: accounts and licences for the AI and automation tools required for the role are provided by the firm.

- Application Process

Applications should be sent to , , and , under the subject line “AI Associate — (Name)”, enclosing a curriculum vitae.

Candidates are encouraged, though not required, to include a note of not more than 250 words describing one process they have automated or one tool they have built using AI, setting out the problem addressed, the tools used and the outcome achieved. Supporting screenshots or links may be included.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to discuss examples of their own work with AI tools at interview.
