What you'll do

Design & site builds

- Design and build complete websites end-to-end — from blank domain to live, indexed, converting site
- Create page layouts and UI that look current and professional, not template-default
- Design and build landing pages for campaigns, conferences, and product launches
- Own responsive behaviour — mobile-first, tested across real devices and browsers
- Set up new sites properly from day one: hosting, SSL, CDN, caching, security, analytics, search console
- Redesign and modernize existing sites without losing rankings or breaking URLs

Development

- Build custom features from scratch clean, modular, documented code we can extend later
- Customize WooCommerce: product variations, checkout flows, cart behaviour, pricing logic, order handling
- Integrate and maintain payment gateways, including webhooks, refunds, and failure/recovery flows
- Build and modify themes and child themes; work with Elementor where it's already in use
- Develop custom post types, taxonomies, meta boxes, admin settings pages, and REST API endpoints
- Fix performance problems properly — slow queries, bloated page loads, caching conflicts, Core Web Vitals
- Implement schema, redirects, and structural changes that SEO requests, without breaking the site
- Debug live issues across multiple sites — plugin conflicts, PHP errors, database problems, broken updates
- Handle migrations, staging-to-live deployments, backups, and version control
- Maintain security hygiene: sanitization, escaping, nonces, capability checks, and keeping the stack patched

Must have

- Hands-on WordPress development and design (not just page-building)
- Strong PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, CSS
- Real command of the WordPress way of doing things: hooks, filters, actions,



template hierarchy, WP_Query, coding standards
- WooCommerce development experience — hooks, templates, and custom logic
- Proven design ability — a portfolio of sites you designed, not just developed from someone else's mockup
- Elementor or a similar builder, plus the ability to go beyond it in code when the builder can't do it
- Ability to read someone else's plugin code and work out what it's doing
- Git, and comfort working on staging before touching production
- Transparent written English and the ability to explain what you changed and why

Good to have

- Figma or Adobe XD; basic image editing and asset preparation
- Payment gateway integration experience, especially Razorpay
- WordPress REST API and AJAX-heavy interfaces
- Hostinger, cPanel, Cloudflare, WP Rocket, and general server-level troubleshooting
- SEO-aware development — you understand how your code and layout affect crawlability, speed, and conversions
- React or Vue for admin interfaces; Elementor widget development
- CRO instincts — you can look at a page and say why it isn't converting
- Multisite or multi-property experience

How we workDirect communication, fast iteration, minimal meetings. You'll get a requirement and ship it — we work in versioned increments, test on staging, then push. Deliverables are expected to be copy-paste ready and actually work when installed. You'll be measured on what ships and stays stable, not hours logged.
