About the role

RR Welding Corporation is hiring a Service Technician to install, maintain and repair welding equipment at our workshop and at customer sites. You will be the person our clients call when a machine goes down, and the quality of your diagnosis and turnaround directly affects their production. The role suits someone who enjoys hands-on electrical and electronic troubleshooting and is comfortable working independently in industrial environments.

Your role and responsibilities

- Install and commission welding machines at customer premises, including setup, calibration and handover training for operators.
- Diagnose and repair faults in MIG/MAG, TIG, arc (SMAW), spot welding machines, plasma cutters and associated wire feeders, torches and cooling units.
- Carry out PCB-level and component-level troubleshooting on inverter-based welding equipment — IGBT modules, SMPS, control cards, rectifiers, contactors and cooling fans.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance visits and maintain service records for each machine under contract.
- Read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and service manuals.
- Attend breakdown calls within committed response times and escalate complex failures to the technical head with transparent findings.
- Prepare service reports, spare-part requirement lists and warranty claim documentation after every visit.
- Maintain the spares inventory assigned to you and account for parts consumed.
- Advise customers on correct machine usage, consumable selection and safety practices to reduce repeat failures.
- Follow all electrical safety and PPE protocols on site.

What are we looking for?

Education

- ITI in Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic or Mechanic (Industrial Electronics), or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering.

Experience

- 2–5 years of hands-on experience servicing welding machines, industrial power electronics, UPS/inverters, or similar equipment.




- Candidates with less than 2 years may be considered at the lower end of the range if they have strong practical exposure to inverter or power-electronics repair.

Technical skills

- Working knowledge of single-phase and three-phase power systems.
- Ability to use a multimeter, clamp meter, oscilloscope and insulation tester for fault-finding.
- Soldering and component replacement on control and power boards.
- Understanding of duty cycle, welding current/voltage settings, gas flow and polarity for common welding processes.

Other requirements

- Willingness to travel to customer sites within the region, including occasional overnight travel.
- Valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving licence.
- Basic computer skills for service reporting (email, spreadsheets, mobile service app).
- Conversational Hindi and functional English for customer interaction and documentation.

Preferred, but not mandatory skills

- Prior experience with a welding equipment manufacturer, dealer or authorised service centre.
- Exposure to welding automation, robotic welding cells or CNC plasma cutting systems.
- Familiarity with brands such as Ador, ESAB, Panasonic, Great Yuva, WARPP Engineers, etc.
- Knowledge of PLC basics and gas regulator/chiller servicing.

- Monthly salary of ₹25,000 – ₹40,000 depending on experience and skill assessment.
