Weld Engineer – Fabrication & Heavy Fabrication JD

Welding Process & Execution

Plan, supervise, and optimize welding activities for heavy fabrication projects using processes such as SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and SAW.

Ensure welding is carried out as per approved WPS, PQR, drawings, and applicable standards.

Fabrication Engineering & Production

Handle fabrication activities including fit-up, cutting, bending, assembly, welding, and dimensional control for heavy structural/equipment components.

Coordinate with production teams to achieve project schedules and productivity targets.

Quality & Inspection

Monitor weld quality and ensure compliance with codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, API, and ISO.

Coordinate VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT inspections, and support resolution of welding defects and NCRs.





Welding Procedure & Technical Support

Develop/review WPS, PQR, welder qualification requirements, welding sequences, preheating, PWHT, and consumable specifications.

Troubleshoot welding issues such as distortion, cracking, porosity, undercut, and lack of fusion.

Safety, Documentation & Coordination

Ensure secure welding and fabrication practices in line with HSE requirements.

Maintain welding/fabrication records, inspection reports, consumable control, welder performance records, and coordinate with QA/QC, production, design, and project teams.
