Role Description The Water Resources Engineer will work full time on-site in Shimla, contributing to the planning, design, and analysis of water resource and stormwater management projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, assessing water quality impacts, and supporting the design of drainage, stormwater conveyance, and flood control systems.

The role involves preparing technical drawings, reports, and design documentation, as well as reviewing data, maps, and GIS outputs to support project decisions. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams,



coordinate with project managers and clients, and help ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Water Resource Management and Hydrology, with the ability to apply these skills to practical engineering problems.
- Proficiency in Stormwater and Stormwater Management, including design of drainage systems and flood risk mitigation measures.
- Knowledge of Water Quality principles and assessment methods to support environmentally responsible design.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM) and familiarity with relevant codes and guidelines.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, topographic maps, and GIS data, and prepare clear engineering documentation.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the capacity to work in office and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Prior experience in infrastructure, urban drainage, or environmental projects is an advantage.
