Role & responsibilities
1. The ICU nurse's primary responsibility is to provide continuous, safe, evidence-based care to critically ill patients, recognize deterioration early, support life-sustaining treatments, and coordinate effectively with the healthcare team.
Preferred candidate profile
1. Perform a systematic head-to-toe assessment.
2. Monitor vital signs and other ICU parameters at the prescribed frequency.
3. Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
4. Maintain accurate intake/output and fluid-balance records.
5. Monitor for deterioration and report significant changes immediately.
6. Maintain airway, ventilator, catheter, drain, and IV-line care.
7. Provide regular repositioning and skin care.
8. Maintain complete and accurate nursing documentation.
9. Give a explicit handover to the incoming nurse.
