About us

AdVran Inc. works across technology, cybersecurity, IT, software, digital marketing, and emerging technology.

Our work often involves taking something technical, such as a software platform, website, interface, cybersecurity service, product feature, or complicated idea, and making it clear, engaging, and easy to understand.

We are looking for a video editor who is comfortable working in that environment.

This is not just a role for cutting footage together. A large part of the work is visual storytelling. You will turn software interfaces, screen recordings, text, graphics, footage, and ideas into polished content that feels modern and intentional.

The role

You will create video content for AdVran and its clients across social media, websites, digital campaigns, product marketing, and other platforms.

A strong fit for this role understands both video editing and motion design.

You should be able to take raw footage, screen recordings, software interfaces, websites, scripts, graphics, or a creative brief and turn them into finished videos without needing every edit mapped out for you.

For software focused content, that means understanding how to make a UI feel dynamic on screen. You should know how to highlight features, animate components, guide the viewer's attention, use motion and typography effectively, and turn a product walkthrough into a story instead of simply showing a screen recording.

You may also create short form social content, longer form videos, advertisements, product showcases, explainers, launch videos, and AI assisted or fully AI generated video content.

What you will do

- Edit short form and long form video content
- Create polished software, SaaS, cybersecurity, IT, and technology focused videos
- Turn screen recordings and product interfaces into engaging product demonstrations and showcases
- Animate UI elements, dashboards, websites, apps, screenshots, and software workflows
- Create motion graphics, kinetic typography, callouts, transitions, titles, captions, and other animated elements
- Direct the viewer's attention using zooms, highlights, cursor movement, framing, compositing, and motion
- Turn technical features into clear visual stories that communicate why the product or service matters
- Edit footage for pacing, storytelling, clarity, and retention
- Perform basic color correction and color grading
- Clean, mix, and balance dialogue, music, sound effects, and other audio
- Add appropriate music and sound design
- Create accurate captions and subtitles
- Source and incorporate B roll, graphics, screenshots, stock assets, and other supporting media when appropriate
- Repurpose longer content into Shorts, Reels, TikToks, clips, ads, and other platform specific versions
- Resize, reframe, version, and export content appropriately for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, websites, paid media, and other platforms
- Publish and schedule social content when needed
- Understand how hooks, pacing, captions, thumbnails, titles, formatting, video length, calls to action, and other creative decisions change by platform
- Stay aware of changes in major social platforms and adjust content appropriately rather than using the exact same approach everywhere
- Maintain consistency with brand guidelines across client and internal content
- Organize project files, footage, graphics, templates, and reusable assets

- Create reusable motion templates and editing systems that make future production faster
- Make revisions efficiently based on feedback
- Work across multiple projects and brands when priorities shift

What we are looking for

Required

- Strong video editing skills and a portfolio demonstrating professional quality work

- Strong motion graphics skills
- Experience animating text, graphics, interfaces, or UI elements
- Good understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, composition, typography, and hierarchy
- Ability to make software and technical products visually interesting without relying on excessive or distracting effects
- Comfortable editing screen recordings, software demos, websites, dashboards, and product workflows
- Strong understanding of short form social media editing
- Ability to create engaging openings and maintain viewer attention throughout a video
- Comfortable adapting content for different aspect ratios, platforms, and placements
- Good understanding of sound design, dialogue cleanup, music, and audio balancing
- Working knowledge of color correction and basic color grading
- Detail oriented and capable of catching visual, audio, spelling, caption, and continuity issues before delivery
- Organized with project files and able to work efficiently across multiple projects
- Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions
- Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines
- Able to take a creative brief or general direction and make strong editing decisions independently

Experience with professional editing and motion tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent software is expected.

Preferred

- Experience creating content for SaaS, software, cybersecurity, IT, technology, startups, or B2B companies
- Experience creating product demos, software launch videos, explainers, feature announcements, advertisements, or product marketing videos
- Strong Adobe After Effects skills
- Experience working with Figma or design files when creating UI based animations
- Experience creating paid social or digital advertising content
- Experience managing or publishing content across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, and similar platforms
- Understanding of social media performance, retention, watch time, hooks, and platform specific creative best practices
- Ability to identify strong short form moments from longer footage
- Basic understanding of marketing and product positioning
- Experience working with brand guidelines and multiple client brands

AI experience is a plus We are interested in editors who understand where AI can genuinely improve creative production.

Experience with tools such as Runway, Veo, Sora, Higgsfield, Kling, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, ElevenLabs, Descript, or similar creative AI platforms is a plus.

This may include

- Creating AI generated video sequences
- Generating or extending B roll

- Creating supporting visuals

- AI assisted cleanup or compositing

- Voice and audio workflows
- Creating videos primarily or entirely using AI generated assets when appropriate
- Using AI to speed up repetitive editing tasks while maintaining quality control

AI should be treated as another production tool rather than a replacement for good editing, design, judgment, or storytelling. Because some projects may involve private client information, unreleased software, cybersecurity material, or confidential business assets, discretion is important. Confidential material should never be uploaded to third party or public AI systems without approval.

Nice to have

- Graphic design experience

- UI and UX knowledge

- Animation or 3D experience
- Blender or Cinema 4D experience

- Thumbnail design

- Copywriting or scripting experience
- Experience recording clean software demonstrations
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity, IT, software, or emerging technology
- Experience working in a startup, agency, or fast moving creative environment

What good work looks like We want videos that feel:

Clean. Modern. Intentional. Visually polished. Easy to understand.

Not every video needs constant motion.

A good editor knows when animation helps communicate something and when simplicity makes the content feel more premium.

For product videos specifically, we do not want someone simply playing a screen recording from beginning to end.

We want someone who can look at a software workflow and decide:

- What actually matters?
- Where should the viewer be looking?
- What can be removed?
- What should be highlighted or animated?
- How can this feature be explained visually in a few seconds?
- How do we make a technical product feel simple?

What we offer
- Work across technology, cybersecurity, software, IT, marketing, and emerging AI
- A variety of video styles rather than one repetitive format
- Opportunities to work on product launches, software demonstrations, social content, ads, branded content, and experimental AI projects
- Creative ownership and room to bring ideas to the table
- The prospect to help establish the visual style and motion systems used across AdVran's video work
- Potential for ongoing work as our video and content needs grow

To apply Send your resume and portfolio.

Your portfolio matters significantly more than your resume for this position.

We especially want to see examples involving:

- Motion graphics

- UI or software animation

- SaaS or technology content

- Product demos or explainers

- Short form social content

- Kinetic typography

- Ads or promotional videos

If you have created a video where you took raw software screen recordings or a product interface and transformed them into a polished product story, please include it. AI generated or AI assisted video examples are also welcome.

Please briefly include the editing and motion tools you primarily use and your availability.

Generic portfolios consisting entirely of weddings, basic talking head edits, gaming montages, or simple social clips may not demonstrate the skills required for this particular role.

AdVran Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
