WE'RE HIRING
VisionPLUS Support Engineer
Hyderabad, India | 4–7 Years Experience | Full-Time | Rotating Offshore Shifts
Card transactions never sleep — and neither does the team that keeps them running. If you've spent your career in the trenches of VisionPLUS support and you're ready to own production incidents end-to-end rather than just log tickets, this is built for you. You'll be the specialist a global card-issuing bank leans on and you'll build a knowledge base that makes every future incident faster to solve than the last.
We're hiring VisionPLUS Support Engineers (4–7 years) to handle production incidents (P1/P2), batch support, UAT issue resolution, and release/implementation reviews for a card-issuing environment, with hands-on experience in TRAMS, CMS, FAS, and/or VMX and strong ABEND resolution skills. This is a build-and-run role — beyond diagnosing issues, you'll be expected to write and modify code for support-driven enhancements and fixes as they come up.
This role requires full flexibility to rotate across offshore shifts. Strong client communication, clean documentation, and comfort owning issues end-to-end are essential.
Responsibilities
- Detect and classify production incidents (P1/P2) within minutes of alert or client report, capturing job name, ABEND code, timestamp, and business impact
- Resolve the incident and close out with an RCA note and knowledge-base update, meeting SLA targets of under 15 minutes for P1 acknowledgment and under 60 minutes for initial diagnosis
- Execute non-production environment batches within agreed SLA, create the report/status email covering batch blockers and issues, and drive the final solution/RCA
- Align daily with client and internal teams during stand-up on active incidents, UAT status, and upcoming releases
- Continuously log incident and ABEND resolutions into the shared knowledge base, and help maintain and improve P1/P2 playbooks and known-error documentation
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles by triaging UAT-reported defects, reproducing issues with the business/QA team, and validating fixes before promotion to the next environment
- Review release and implementation plans for VisionPLUS changes — assess batch and job impact, flag regression risk against known-error history, and validate rollback plans ahead of go-live
- Participate directly in release implementation windows — execute post-implementation verification steps and provide go/no-go input based on batch and incident readiness
- Write and modify code (COBOL/JCL or equivalent) for minor enhancements and defect fixes that arise from support work, following the client's change-control process
Mandatory Requirements
- 4–7 years of hands-on VisionPLUS production/application support experience
- Hands-on experience in at least two to three of the following VisionPLUS modules: TRAMS, CMS, FAS, VMX — be specific about which modules, in what capacity, and for how long
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing and resolving batch ABENDs in a mainframe or equivalent environment, including classification (data/code/environment) and root-cause documentation
- Solid understanding of the card issuing/processing lifecycle: authorization, settlement, posting, statement cycle
- Comfort in JCL/COBOL/DB2/CICS or equivalent mainframe-adjacent environments
- Ability to go beyond diagnostics — reading, modifying, and writing code for minor enhancements and defect fixes as part of the support workload, not purely a break-fix role
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work flexible, rotating offshore shifts — including occasional on-call for P1 escalations outside normal hours
- Strong written and verbal English communication — able to write clear RCA notes and handoff documentation for a non-technical banking audience
Preferred / Positive to Have
- Prior experience supporting a BFSI/banking client
- Prior exposure to UAT coordination and release/implementation cycles for a banking or card-issuing platform
- Working knowledge of card scheme rules (Visa/Mastercard) as they relate to authorization and settlement failures
- Experience contributing to or maintaining a support knowledge base or playbook library
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent structured incident-management background
Soft Skills Ownership mindset with comfort being first line of defence on a live incident; strong analytical/triage instinct under time pressure; precise, consistent documentation habits; collaborative across time zones and shift boundaries; genuine comfort with ongoing shift rotation, not just at onboarding.
Why This Role
- Work on a high-stakes, high-visibility card-issuing platform where your fixes have same-day, measurable impact
- Build deep, hard-to-replicate VisionPLUS expertise across TRAMS/CMS/FAS/VMX — a skill set in genuine short supply
- Direct exposure to a global banking client, not layers removed from the real work
- A small, senior pod — not a large anonymous support queue — where your judgment is trusted from day one
