We are looking for a Transport In-charge- Apeejay School- Noida

Summary of Job: The Transport In-charge will be responsible for the overall management of the school's transport services, including fleet management, scheduling, safety, compliance, and vendor relationships. The role requires a highly organized individual with a strong background in transport operations and a proactive approach to managing routes, maintenance, and the transportation team.

Job Responsibilities :

- Fleet Management & Maintenance:
- Supervise the maintenance of school buses, cars, and other vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, and regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Route Planning, Scheduling & Monitoring:
- Plan, monitor, and optimize school bus routes, including the creation of pickup and drop-off points.
- Ensure efficient routing to minimize travel time while considering safety and convenience for students.
- Oversee the monitoring of buses on their routes, ensuring timely and smooth operations.
- Route Finalization & Check:
- Finalize and review bus routes periodically to ensure they remain optimal and safe.
- Regularly inspect routes for road conditions, traffic patterns, and any other factors that might affect operations.
- Student Pickup and Drop Points:
- Maintain and monitor safe, accessible, and productive pickup/drop-off points for students.
- Ensure these points are updated as necessary and communicate any changes to parents and staff.

- Vendor and Contractor Liaison:
- Liaise with external contractors/vendors for vehicle procurement, maintenance, fuel supply, and other transport-related services.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure vendors meet quality and service standards.

- Driver and Staff Management:
- Oversee and manage the transport staff, including drivers, conductors, guards, and attendants.




- Ensure all transport staff adhere to policies and safety regulations.
- Provide training on safety protocols, road safety, and customer service.
- R.T.O. and Insurance-Related Work:
- Handle all R.T.O. (Regional Transport Office) related formalities, including vehicle registration, licenses, and permits.
- Ensure that all vehicles are insured and manage insurance-related tasks such as renewals and claims.

- Safety and Compliance:
- Monitor transport safety standards, conduct safety drills, and ensure compliance with all relevant transport laws and regulations.
- Regularly check vehicles to ensure they comply with R.T.O. regulations and safety standards.

- Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Manage the transport budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high safety and service standards.

- Communication and Coordination:
- Act as the main point of contact for parents and staff regarding transport-related issues.
- Address any complaints or concerns related to transportation in a timely and efficient manner.

- Emergency Management:
- Ensure the transport department is prepared for emergencies, including accidents, breakdowns, or other unforeseen events.
- Develop and maintain emergency protocols.

Skills and Competencies Required:

- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, R.T.O. guidelines, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in using transport management software and Microsoft Office.

- Personal Qualities:
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and ensure smooth operations.
- Responsible, dependable, and adaptable to changing requirements

Educational Qualification: Graduate/Postgraduate, preferably in a relevant field. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in handling Transportation, Route Mapping, etc preferably in a reputed school.
