Role Description The Tools Designer role at Beacon Optronics is a full-time, on-site position based in Ghaziabad. In this role, the Tools Designer will create and refine tooling designs for lens manufacturing, including molds and related components, ensuring dimensional accuracy and manufacturability.
Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with design engineers to translate lens designs into tooling models, preparing detailed drawings and 3D models,
and optimizing tooling for injection molding processes.
The Tools
Designer will review and improve existing tools based on production feedback, troubleshoot tooling-related issues on the shop floor, and support trial runs and validation activities. The role also involves maintaining documentation, adhering to quality and safety standards, and working closely with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and performance targets.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Tooling Design and Design Engineering for precision optical and mechanical components.
- Hands-on experience with Mold Design and Mold development for production environments.
- Practical knowledge of Injection Molding processes and tooling optimization.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAE software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX) for 2D/3D design and modeling.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials for molds and tools, and GD&T; principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with design, production, and quality teams.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or a related discipline; prior experience in tooling for optics or plastics is an advantage.
