Test Engineer - Vantage Cybertech
Location: Mohali, India (on-site / hybrid) Hours: UK working hours Type: Full-time
Hey there ?
We're Vantage Cybertech, and we're looking for a Test Engineer who actually enjoys breaking things before our users do.
This isn't a role where you'll be rubber-stamping builds and moving on. We want someone who digs into a product, finds the weird edge case nobody thought of, and writes it up so clearly that the dev fixing it doesn't have to ask a single follow-up question.
If you're the kind of person who notices when a button is 3px off and it quietly bothers you all day - we'd probably get along.
What you'll actually be doing
- End-to-end testing, properly. Full journeys, not just happy paths. Mobile, web, everything in between.
- Writing detailed test documentation. We're big on thorough, well-structured PDF test reports - explicit steps to reproduce, screenshots, expected vs actual, severity, the lot. If someone picks up your report six months from now, it should still make complete sense.
- Building out test suites and keeping them useful as the product grows.
- Automation where it earns its place. Writing automated test scripts, wiring tests into GitHub Actions pipelines so things get caught before they reach anyone.
- Using AI tools to speed things up. We actively encourage it - generating test cases, scaffolding automated suites, speeding up the boring parts. If you've got a good workflow here, we want to hear about it.
- Unit tests when the situation calls for it.
- Talking to people. Devs, designers, project leads. Flagging issues early and clearly.
What we're looking for The essentials:
- Genuine attention to detail - this is the big one
- Strong written and verbal communication (a lot of our collaboration happens async in writing)
- Comfortable with testing tools and picking up new ones as needed
- Happy working UK hours from India
- Able to write clean, thorough documentation without being chased for it
Nice to have:
- Prior experience testing mobile and web applications
- Some exposure to UI/UX work - even better if you've sat on the design side of things
- A valuable eye for design. If a layout feels off or an interaction is clunky, we want you to say so
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
- Familiarity with automation frameworks
You don't need to tick every box. If you're strong on detail, communication, and curiosity, we can work with the rest. What you're not walking into
- No mountains of legacy process
- No being the last person to hear about a feature
- No "just click through it quickly before release"
You'll have actual input on quality, and we'll listen when you raise something. We're more interested in how you think than in a list of tools.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
